Our good friends at ID Spectral are to release their launch compilation tomorrow. Entitled “IDS001”, the album will feature over an hour of experimental vibes, from artists such as Ability II, [Anji Cheung](https://anjicheung.bandcamp.com/), and label head [AUXX](https://sampleface.co.uk/auxx-new-project-ax-20/).

Founded by AUXX (real name Louis Sterling), ID Spectral is based in Brighton, with some great connections around the world. What you won’t find are conventional songs or a consistent rhythm to tap your foot to. The music on IDS001 will change your idea of sound creation and set you on a path to audible enlightenment.

Label head Auxx announces AX/20, the brain-wrangling EP approved by Brainfeeders Iglooghost. 

After a short hiatus, Auxx announces AX/20, an eclectic four-track project featuring the remastered version of Lead 3 - the brain-wrangling single approved by Brainfeeders Iglooghost and UK beat veteren Kidkanevil. Since the start of the artists’ career back in 2013, it has been safe to say that his electronic production has often fallen under the experimental banner. Seven years down the line, his sonic experimentations on AX/20 doesn’t fall short of demonstrating the artist's technical ability to bridge the gaps between off-kilter, bass heavy hip-hop and ambient soundscapes - especially on the more emotive titles such as ‘Any Way You Can’ - a track reminiscent of his ties with the local bristol beat scene.

IDS001 – Launch Compilation

We are excited to share the debut release from Egyptian-based instrumentalist Hossam Hilal. 

ID Spectral are proud to present Overk (IDS003), the debut release from Egyptian-based instrumentalist Hossam Hilal. Set in hazy desert landscapes, to underground soundsystem culture, Hilal presents us with a collection of rich textural works that hint at styles of world music, packaged with the influences of psychedelic rock, ambience and electronica.

The journey begins with ‘Hurry up’, a collage of luscious tonal bodies and melodic electric guitar riffs, topped with a beauteous synthesis of sampled drums. As Hossam takes us into the more organic, off-kilter african percussions on tracks such as ‘Habitat’ and ‘Ma Fi Makan’, the artist begins to unveil his egyptian roots with more traditional, celebratory atmospheres of a city of with a rich cultural history. The EP closes with ‘Crippled Down’, a delicately dissonant blend of metallic textures and concrete basslines.
